BMW 330 Coupe ClubsportWith the oil service light coming up and it not showing a service in the book for some time I did an engine and gearbox oil change, air filter change and also the spark plugs. Going through some routine checks it would turn out that the brake discs on the front were below the minimum thickness and that the inside of the rear discs that formed the handbrake drums were shot (hence why the handbrake was rubbish!) a new set of EBC USR discs and red stuff ceramics and its sorted. Brakes are much better now and the handbrake actually works a bit. To keep the car looking as it should be, I had to fit a new front splitter as one was missing when I bought the car. With dubious looking front tyre wear and a lot of unusual tracking across the road I decided the front wishbone rear bushes probably needed doing. After a quick check it was clearly visible that they were shot. A week later some new ones turned up from the internet. Two track control bushes and two anti roll bar bushes. Not too bad to fit, the control arm bushes were completely shot and fell apart when I removed them from the car.
Carputer Build Today I removed the climate control, stereo and heater vents. I then fitted the climate control relocation panel so I had a double din size space for the screen and bezel to fit into. If you plan on doing this buy your climate relocation panel direct from a BMW dealer as it will only cost you £20-25 quid not the £40 some twats are trying to charge on eBay!! Then I started to make the bezel for the screen from some 3/4" MDF Bit more work done on it today. Made a template then used that to make some braces to fit to the rear of the fascia to provide extra strength. With them glued on with epoxy I spent far too long cutting and chiselling out the back so the screen front panel fits in properly. Finally before finishing up for the night I cut out the centre, this now just needs dressing back to the screen front panel. A few more hours work and now I have a screen that is presentable for the time being, the amp wired up into the boot and the door speakers fitted and wired up to the amp. The sound is really nice and cant wait to get the rest of it in the car.
